Previous Experience
Prior to his association with Rich Consulting, Les served as Division Head
of Construction for Washington Gas Light Company. He was responsible
for all construction operations and successfully led several process improvement
initiatives that reduced new service construction costs by 30% over his three-year
tenure. He also initiated a cast iron replacement project using a revised
repair vs. replace model that more precisely identified top replacement candidates.
The project also incorporated alternative replacement methods including internal
joint sealing and cured-in-place lining which had not previously been used
by Washington Gas.
Before joining Washington Gas, Les worked for two utility construction contractors – Lineal
Industries and DiLorenzo Corporation. For both firms he served as Vice
President and was responsible of construction operations. At Lineal
he managed construction operations for the Mid-Atlantic Region. At
DiLorenzo Corporation he successfully transformed the company from a local
to a regionally recognized utility contractor in New England.
Les began his career with Boston Gas Company (later part of Keyspan) where
is spent 28 years in a succession of gas system construction, operations
and maintenance positions. In his last position he was Director of
Construction.
