Deb
is an Associate of Rich Consulting, LLC, with over 15 years of international
management consulting experience across a range of industries including energy
and utilities, financial services, retail, and non-profit. Her professional
experience includes:
- Promostyl, Trend Forecasting –Provided management
consulting services to Executives in multi-million dollar consumer driven
companies. Focus areas included trend forecasting, product design
and brand positioning.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers —Engaged by clients to
examine market position, assess competition, analyze operations, and identify
best practices — all aimed at driving process improvements to the bottom
line.
- FleetBoston —Facilitated senior debt financing,
prepared written credit analysis and pro-forma financials. Active
marketing of international bank credit, products and services to Fortune
500 multi-nationals.
Recent Projects
Some of Deb’s recent engagements include:
- Evaluation of a Retail Energy Services Company. This
effort entailed the evaluation of a regional energy services company for
potential acquisition by a larger national concern. This scope of
the assignment included an analysis of the combined market expansion potential,
the projected cost of new customer acquisition, and the back-office support
costs associated with billing and customer care. A recommended strategy
was presented to the client’s senior management team.
- Electric Industry De-regulation Analysis. This work
encompassed an assessment of customer benefits under utility industry de-regulation
in both the U.K. and the U.S. and the development of a position paper to
be used by senior executives in discussions with various stakeholder groups.
- Marketing Strategy for Pan-European Consolidation. This
project was to develop a Pan-European marketing and communication strategy
for an international fashion apparel company. Implementing the strategy
involved resolving channel conflicts with retail partners, building consensus
among Country Managers, developing a marketing operations manual and conducting
follow-up workshops for subsidiary Marketing Managers in the UK, France,
Holland, and Belgium. Recommendations and subsequent organizational
changes were accepted by the Board of Directors and Country Managers.
- Forecast of Industry Infrastructure. Contributing
analyst on a back office security processing white paper commissioned
by Wall Street investment bank CEO. Projections and analysis
used to plan for and direct capital investment ten to fifteen years
out.
Previous Experience
Deb worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Boston and San Francisco offices,
advising clients on issues surrounding customer segmentation, performance
benchmarking, strategic operations review, market entry strategy and organizational
restructuring.
During her time at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Logan was granted a sabbatical
to serve on the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Shipboard
Education. She managed the Field Office, coordinating international
field study programs for 500 faculty and students while traveling around
the world aboard a 564-foot ship. Ms. Logan re-engineered Field Office
operating procedures; beta tested software to process the registration/payment
of 4,000+ field practicum while at sea; designed programs to accreditation
standard; presented weekly lectures; hosted visiting dignitaries and foreign
university representatives; and led groups of faculty and students through
South America, Africa, India, Southeast Asia, China, and Japan.
She began her career with Bank of Boston (now FleetBoston) in the Bank’s
Loan Officer Development Program (LODP), moving from Trainee to Banking Associate,
Loan Officer and Assistant Vice President. During her tenure at Bank
Boston, Ms. Logan worked with large corporate multinational clients on senior
debt financing, corporate re-capitalization, and international finance. She
held positions with the Bank in Boston and in London.
Deb serves on the Advisory Board of The Trustees of Reservations (TTOR),
a 40,000 member non-profit with 52,000 acres of land in conservation.
