Corp — assisted in the
development of legacy system and consulting outsourcing. Updated
the firm’s SAP consultant database on behalf of the Beijing HR
department, and revised firm’s English-language website to improve
recruiting abilities.
- International Assistant Program (IA) — assisted
international students in acclimating to Boston College and the American
culture for the Office of International Students and Scholars. Participated
in annual leadership council to elect new IA members as well as coordinated
events for over 300 international and domestic students on a monthly basis.
Recent Projects
Recent project assignments include:
- Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Project for a Large Utility. Currently
supporting the development of an AMI deployment plan which will enable
the automation of all metering functions for commercial and industrial
customers served by this utility. The scope of the planning effort
includes design, system integration, and field installation.
- Business Strategy for Telecom Company. Engaged to determine
increasing consumer dissatisfaction and falling adoption rates for the
China Business Unit of an international telecom company. Developed
strategy to gain market share of China youth aged 10-15, 16-20, and 21-25. Strategy
required the implementation of new marketing tactics to address significant
cultural changes pertaining to the Chinese youth market.
- Benchmarking Study for the China Market – conducted market
research for an international pharmaceutical company to determine product
adoption in Tier I, II, and III city hospitals in China. Assignment
required evaluation of fractured Mainland market for brand name, generic,
and traditional/herbal medications.
Previous Experience
Will recently graduated from Boston College where he received a BS in Finance,
with honors. He studied abroad both in Italy and in China during his
junior year, first spending a semester studying finance at Bocconi University
in Milan, Italy’s most prestigious university. He later went on to
study fine arts and Asian psychology at China’s most esteemed and oldest
university, Peking University in Beijing. During his time studying
in Beijing, Will interned at an outsourcing consulting firm, Camelot Information
Systems, which specialized in ERP and legacy system implementation.
He later traveled Southeast Asia, returning to Beijing to intern at Taylor
Nelson Sofres (TNS) where he worked as part of a consulting team and conducted
market research for telecommunication, pharmaceutical, and IT companies.
His work specialized in emerging market trends in Hong Kong, Mainland China,
Macao, and Taiwan. He concentrated on applicable strategies for Tier
I (Beijing, Shanghai), Tier II (Nanjing, Xi’an), and Tier III (Harbin,
Fuzhou) urban centers on the Mainland.
